Here are some basic tips for those visiting the Seychelles.

Entry requirements

• A passport valid for the duration of your stay

• confirmed accommodation

• sufficient funds (a minimum of US$150 or equivalent)

No visa is required for tourists.  A Visitor's Permit for up to one month is issued on arrival.  This can be renewed.

Language

English, French and Creole are spoken.

Currency

Seychelles Rupee.

Forex

It is suggested that you take US Dollars or Euros as these are preferred.

Medical

There is a hospital in Victoria which can provide for any health requirements.

Cell phones

The local service provider is Cable & Wireless.  All phones may be used.

Shopping

Is done at small local stores.

Beer

The local beverage is Sey Brew.

Dress

For most of your visit, you will need only shorts and T-shirts.  Long trousers are only required at the casino and in the evenings at some restaurants.
